Airsoft competition is a thing. Crazy. I just heard about it last week. Basically grown men get all geared up in tactical equipment and run around a CQB arena shooting pellets at one another.
I’ve always been aware of Airsoft replica guns but I always figured it was a kid thing. I never imagined adults would carry into competitive levels.
What strikes me as most amusing is the way the people in the videos report themselves as “casualties.” If they are struck by a pellet they raise their hand and walk off the battleground. This reminds me of countless hours spent arguing the finer points of “playing guns” as a child. Aiming a toy gun at a friend and making the pew pew sound only to have your opponent claim it was a miss was so unfulfilling. Perhaps I am missing something by just watching the youtube clips but grown men blasting each othet with pellets and then relying on one another’s honestly seems a recipe for disaster. At least paintball leaves little to argue.
